Take your music productions into the next generation

Learn how to create generative music in this unique 1-day workshop, aimed at collaborations between musicians and programmers.

What's covered in the workshop?

The workshop will cover all topics required to write, finish and distribute a piece of generative music, from the conceptual to the technical...

GROUNDWORK TOPICS

Tools to get you started, technologies used for distribution, analysis of existing works

PRACTICAL TECHNIQUES

How to prepare static musical assets for use in dynamic pieces, how to use external API data to influence the music

NEW CONCEPTS

Rethinking traditional song structures, reimagining what is possible with algorithmic melody and rhythm

DISTRIBUTE ON THE DAY

Finished pieces will be ready for the world to hear by the end of the workshop

FOR MUSICIANS

Musicians taking part in the workshop don't need to have any prior knowledge of generative music or programming. Just come with some musical ideas, your favourite music making software and an open mind!

FOR PROGRAMMERS

Programmers taking part in the workshop don't necessarily need to be musicians. All that is required is some basic patching knowledge in Pd or Max. You will work with a musician to realise a collective vision for a piece of generative music.
